Pragya Nagra comes from a Punjabi family based in Ambala, Haryana. She did her education in Delhi and wanted to join the armed forces. She grew up in a disciplined environment, with her father serving in the Indian Armed Forces. This also meant moving around, including a stint in Chennai during his posting.
