The Diary
A diary of 100 pages, given up to the media by Jyoti’s husband, has added fuel to the fire. The notebook painstakingly documents Jyoti’s monthly earnings, purportedly through unauthorized ways, totaling a whopping 600,000 rupees every month. Jyoti Maurya’s Husband Filed A Complaint
Jyoti’s husband, Alok Maurya, has filed a complaint with the Home Guard headquarters in response to the charges. Home Guard DIG V.K. Maurya has forwarded the matter to Deputy Commandant General Santosh Kumar for further inquiry in response to his complaint. In the meantime, an investigation into the role of female cops in the Bareilly sugar mill is ongoing.
Details In The Diary
Alok Kumar Maurya, a Prayagraj resident who works in the Panchayat Raj Department, noticed swastika markings above and below every page of the diary. Positive remarks have been put alongside the symbols. In addition, each page displays the total amount of money obtained from various persons. Alok asserts that this is Jyoti’s handwriting.
Accounting For Corruption
From 2019 to 2021, Jyoti Maurya worked as a probationary officer in the Kaushambi tea subdivision. The diary recounts the accounting of corruptly acquired funds throughout this time period. Jyoti also purportedly made unauthorized earnings of 604,000 rupees in only one month, October 2021. Each month, payments of 15,000 rupees to the supply inspector and 16,000 rupees to the marketing inspector are also mentioned in the diary. The sum of money obtained through corruption is precisely recorded on each page of the diary.
Trouble Starts After 2020
Alok claimed that he tied the knot with Jyoti in 2010 and assisted her in furthering her schooling. Jyoti was trained and finally ranked third among women and 16th overall in the Public Service Commission. Their family was ecstatic. They were blessed with twin girls in 2015. Everything appeared to be alright until 2020.
“Friendship on Facebook with District Commandant of Home Guards”
In 2020, according to Alok, Jyoti befriended the District Commandant of Home Guards in Ghaziabad. They began talking often, and Alok, given their professional link, saw nothing wrong with it. On the other hand, Jyoti failed to log out of her Facebook account on her smartphone in 2022. Further, Alok became enraged when he overheard their obscene chats. Jyoti resorted to physical abuse and threatened to put him in jail when he objected. Alok was detained at a hotel in Lucknow on December 22, 2022. He claimed to have fled with his life intact.
Death Threats
“A week ago, I received a call threatening me to take a divorce willingly; otherwise, I would be killed. She also threatened to implicate me in a false dowry case under Section 376.” Alok claimed of Jyoti.
