The streamer has now confirmed that Diljit Dosanjh will play the well-known musician. The film will tell the untold astonishing rags-to-riches narrative of the actual Amar Singh Chamkila, who had such a wide following that he was called the “Elvis of Punjab.”
Release Of The Movie
Netflix published the Chamkila teaser one day after the first anniversary of Punjabi artist Sidhu Moose Wala’s death. He was shot similarly and killed at the age of 28, just a day after the state administration reduced his security cover. But the film does not yet have a set release date. However, it is scheduled to be available on Netflix in 2024.
