During a videotaped campaign stop in Ohio by then-Democratic nominee Barack Obama. Joe raised concerns that Obama’s tax policy would increase taxes on small business owners. Since his expression, he was interested in purchasing a small plumbing business. This gave the moniker “Joe the Plumber” by the McCain-Palin campaign.
Joe was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer earlier this year. The news of his passing was shared in a post on X. Further, host Derek Hunter posted, “Horrible news. My good friend Joe Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, passed away this morning at 49 from pancreatic cancer.” Further added, “He was a good man and an exceptional friend. Please consider helping his widow and young children here.”

Who Was Joe The Plumber?
Wurzelbatcher was born to Frank and Kay Wurzelbacher on December 3, 1973. His mother was a waitress, and his father was a Vietnam War veteran. Joe served in the U.S. Air Force from 1992 to 1996 and worked as a plumber’s assistant.
However, he later became a conservative activist and commentator. He made various news programs and speeches at political events. Later, he became a household name after he was frequently mentioned during the debates between Obama and late Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain.
Family’s Statement
In the fundraising campaign, Joe’s wife, Katie, wrote, “Joe had been having stomach issues for about 3 months, which eventually became painful. On December 26, he’d had enough pain, and we went to the V.A. emergency room in Ann Arbor.”
She added, “They ran tests and performed scans which showed a mass in the head of his pancreas. The mass restricted one of his biliary ducts, so they classified it as Stage 3 cancer.”
