A 22-year-old felony, Zion William Teasley, who was just released from jail on probation in November, has been suspected of killing Lauren Heike while she was hiking a well-known path in Phoenix, Arizona, last week.
Zion William Teasley was apparently dismissed lately for “being aggressive towards female employees.” For violating his probation and reportedly attacking 29-year-old esthetician Lauren Heike from behind on April 29 before murderously stabbing her, Zion William Teasley made his first court appearance on Friday morning. The judge ordered him to be kept without bail.
According to the lieutenant in charge of homicide James Hester, the attack was “random” and “without provocation.” He added that the wounds on Heike indicate she fought off her attacker but was unable to escape. He said officials do not believe Heike was s*xually abused.
Hester remarked, “Her injuries were just too severe.”
Zion Teasley was taken into custody on Thursday in Phoenix, Arizona, for involvement with the grisly murder of Lauren Heike. According to the prosecution, Teasley planned his attack and left his DNA at the crime scene. In order to keep Teasley behind bars before trial, prosecutors pointed to the suspected murder and the convictions for armed robbery and disruptive behavior in 2020.
A week-long search for the man seen on shaky security camera footage leaving the route shortly after Heike was murdered was put to an end with Teasley’s capture. At some press conferences, Heike’s relatives and police officers were present and praised her for being “beautiful, inside and out.” Everyone who met her, according to her mother, Lana Heike, adored her.
Who Is Zion William Teasley?
Teasley claimed to be a former U.S. Marine on his LinkedIn site, but a military spokesman informed ABC15 Phoenix that he never made it out of boot camp. According to the TV station, Teasley was recently let go from being “aggressive towards female employees” and maybe skimming from the business.
