Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is the first person to top $100 billion as number one on the Forbes list of the World’s Billionaires. Started the company in a garage in 1994, Bezos owns 16% of e-commerce giant Amazon. However, his empire also comprises newspaper, Rocket Company, coupon website, grocery giant and much more in addition to Amazon.

Acquired in the year 2015, the software company specializes in providing multi screen video solutions. It is claimed to have pioneered the “use of software-based video processing to distribute and monetize video over IP networks”. AWS Elemental has offices in the United Kingdom, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, China, Russia, Brazil and India.

 

2. Zappos –Popular Apparel And Footwear Website

Acquired by Amazon in July of 2009, it’s a popular apparel and footwear e-tailer in the US. The website suffered a major data breach wherein hackers stole personal information of 24 million-plus customers in the year 2012.

 

3. The Washington Post – The News Paper

He owns the over-140-year-old newspaper ‘The Washington Post’. In August 2013, Nash Holdings, a private company owned by Bezos, bought the newspaper for $250 million.
