Yuzvendra Chahal And Dhanashree Verma’s Divorce: The Real Reason Behind Their Split

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, choreographer Dhanashree Verma, have officially parted ways. On social media platforms, the news of their divorce heated up for more than one year. The couple made cryptic social media posts about their separation, although it wasn’t directly addressed. Now, the news of separation is finally confirmed, putting an end to all the rumors.

The couple unfollowed each other on Instagram in early January 2025. Yuzi Chahal chose to delete her photos from his profile. Both of them remained silent about the rumors since no official statement was released.

Yuzvendra Chahal And Dhanashree Verma Divorce Reason

Both parties attended the final hearing at the Bandra Family Court on Thursday, February 20, 2025. The couple told the court their separation happened because they were not compatible. The Judge proposed marital counseling, which lasted 45 minutes before Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree officially agreed to separate. The couple declared they had maintained separate living arrangements for the last 18 months. The family of Dhanashree denied baseless rumors regarding her alimony amount, which was reported to be Rs 60 crore.

The day before their court session, both posted inspirational messages on social media representing thankfulness with religious beliefs. The wedding took place on December 22, 2020, in Gurgaon during a private ceremony. The four-year relationship between them has officially concluded through their breakup.

Just after the hearing and the official separation, Yuzvendra Chahal took to social media to share a post. The cricketer’s post read,

“God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen.”

Whereas Dhanashree posted,

“From Stressed To Blessed – Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you’re stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying, or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good.”
