Already, Zomato had last revised its foundation fee on January 1, raising it from Rs 3 to Rs 4 per order. This new surge brings the expense up to Rs 5 per order. The increment adjusts Zomato’s platform fee with that of its competitor, Swiggy, also charging Rs 5 per order.

The platform fee is an additional charge on top of delivery charges. Indeed, even Zomato Gold members who enjoy waived delivery charges will incur a fee for this platform fee.
