Zomato Introduces New Feature For Cash On Delivery Orders Ensures Exact Change For Customers

Ordering food from Zomato gets a lot more convenient. It is especially for customers who order food with a cash-on-delivery option. Zomato has introduced a new cash-on-delivery feature for customers that ensures exact change. On Wednesday, Zomato’s CEO Deepinder Goyal announced that the food delivery platform is now equipped with a new feature related to cash-on-delivery services.

Deepinder Goyal shared a post on X and mentioned that all the cash-on-delivery customers can now ask the delivery executives to instantly add the balance of money to their Zomato Money Account. It means, in case you have ordered food for Rs 870 and the delivery agent does not have a change of Rs 1000. So he can instantly add Rs 130 to your Zomato Money Account. It is a kind of Zomato Wallet. Deepinder Goyal said,

For cash on delivery orders, finding exact change can sometimes be inconvenient. Starting today, our customers can pay delivery partners in cash, and ask for the balance amount to be added instantly to their Zomato Money account. This balance can be used towards future delivery orders or dining out.

Thank you @bigbasket_com for the inspiration for this solution, and our delivery partners (three of them are working as product managers with us) for insisting that we develop this asap..”

As per the post, customers were unable to provide the exact change for the cash on delivery orders. So, Zomato has expressed that the company is trying to address customer concerns about ‘finding exact change’ while receiving their order from the delivery agents.

The customer can add the balance amount for each order to their Zomato Money account. As per Deepinder Goyal, the balance amount can be used later to pay for future orders and dining out through Zomato.
