CEO of Zomato Deepinder Goyal provided an update on the social networking site “X”. His post noted that by 11 AM, over 250,000 orders had already been placed.
Expert’s Say
Experts in the field point out that this action coincides with reports that Swiggy, Zomato’s primary competition, has slowed down the rollout of novel and inventive services. Moreover, Swiggy is reported to have taken a more calculated and disciplined approach. On the other hand, analysts pointed out that Zomato seems to be in an improved position. Also, it is in a better state to capitalize on features now that it has listed successfully. Moreover, future improvements and strategies in the cutthroat food delivery industry will probably be influenced. It will be influenced by how well-received and how often the new order monitoring function is used.
Will There Be Any Change In The App?
No, there will be no changes seen. The ordering process on Zomato is the same for regular users in terms of functionality. Further, the nationwide trend of food deliveries will be made more interesting by live tracking.
People’s Reaction
People had different reactions to this. While some were amazed and praising Zomato for the amount of orders it had, while others were questioning the benefit of this feature to the end users.
I saw more than 20 lacs a few minutes before midnight I think. Should verify by placing an order today 😛

This is a cool UX tweak, for sure.
It gamifies the ordering process a bit, creating a sense of urgency and popularity.
Not sure if it’s actually helpful for me personally.
