2023 was the first time Zomato partnered with IRCTC to launch a pilot for delivering food across 5 stations on the railway network. Five stations were New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi. Since then, the service has expanded to various locations like Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Goa, Bhopal, Surat, and many other cities.
At the end of the financial year (March 2024), Zomato had 2.76 lakh restaurant partners on its platform. At the end of FY19, it had only 61,000 restaurants. Customers can order meals with Zomato—Food Delivery in Trains, even if they are at the station or in the train’s compartment.
How To Order Food In Train From Zomato
Firstly, open the Zomato app and update your location. Then search for the option ‘Train’. Once you are done, you will be asked to enter your PNR. This will allow them to get your details, such as the customer’s seat and train details. So that the delivery partner delivers the order to the right person.
Customers have the option to pick up their order at the assigned pick-up point at the station. Even if your train is delayed, no need to worry. Zomato keeps track of the train to make up the delivery timings.
This innovative service will allow the food delivery partner to deliver the food at the arrival of the train.
